Here's what blues guitarists just like you have to say about the Happy Bluesman:

    Why improvisation can feel impossible...

Every single blues guitarist that I have ever coached wants to get better at improvisation:

To move freely across the guitar, solo in a vocal and expressive way and bring to life the exact ideas they have in their heads.

There is almost no better feeling as a guitarist, and improvisation is such an essential skill to have as a blues guitarist – whether you want to join a local jam night or play along to backing tracks at home.

But for many blues guitarists, learning to improvise can feel like an impossible task:

❌ No matter how hard they try, their solos sound mechanical and robotic, which doesn’t reflect how long they’ve been playing or how much they practice

❌ They feel trapped in the first and second shapes of the minor pentatonic scale, and don’t know how to move past them, so they end up with repetitive sounding solos that always use the same notes

❌ Constructing a solo that tells a story and sounds like more than just a collection of licks feels totally out of reach

❌They don’t know how to practice improvisation, and waste hours just noodling over backing tracks – not getting better and becoming frustrated and demotivated

❌ No matter how many licks they learn, they just can’t seem to actually use them when improvising

❌ They’d like to move beyond the minor pentatonic scale, but every time they try their solos actually start to sound worse

❌ Whenever they have a question about a concept or approach, they have to spend hours searching the internet – normally never finding the answers they need

Not knowing how to get better, these guitarists sometimes waste months or years jumping between YouTube lessons, learning licks and snippets of songs or endlessly noodling over backing tracks.

Over the past 5 years, I’ve worked with hundreds of blues guitarists from all over the world. And during that time I’ve seen players struggling over and over again with these same issues.

Without personalised help and guidance, many of these players waste years or even decades of practice time. They get stuck playing the same handful of licks or riffs – and don’t know what they actually need to focus on to start making progress.

If you found yourself nodding your head to anything in that list, then I want to help.

    Introducing…

    The Blues Lead Fast Track

The Blues Lead Fast Track is an 8-week guided online programme to help you learn to improvise with confidence and freedom, and craft beautiful solos in the style of your blues guitar heroes.

You’ll have my full and personalised support as you go through the programme, which aims to help you make more progress improvising in 8 weeks than you have in years.

And you’ll do all of this as part of a supportive community of blues guitarists just like you.

Here’s just some of what you’ll learn:

✅ How to break out of the first and second shapes of the minor pentatonic scale, and solo with freedom all over the fretboard

✅ Ways to use techniques and phrasing to make even 3 or 4 notes sound like a complete solo

✅ How to move beyond the minor pentatonic scale, and craft beautiful licks using the major pentatonic scale

✅ Methods that will have you enjoying practicing more than you have in years, with the support and accountability you need to get results

✅ How to play the changes, so you can craft beautiful and melodic improvisations that follow the chord progression you’re playing over

✅ The techniques and tricks used by blues guitarists like B.B. King, Albert King, Peter Green, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton

You’ll find over 55 lessons and over 10 hours of in-depth instructional videos inside the Fast Track. Every lesson contains a detailed video and text breakdown, along with tabs, backing tracks and scale and chord diagrams.

Beyond these lessons, there are 5 key elements of the Fast Track programme which will help you make faster progress soloing and improvising than ever before:

No more solitary noodling! You have my full support in the Fast Track and I’m always on hand to help answer any questions you have or give you any extra help you might need.

Don’t waste any practice time trying to figure things out on your own. Get in touch whenever you need on email or WhatsApp – I’m always around and happy to help.

Every week we’ll set practice goals together and I’ll hold you accountable to those goals with weekly practice trackers and check-ins.

You’ll practice more over the next 8 weeks (and also have more fun!) than you have in months or even years, and you’ll transform your guitar playing as a result.

Each week you’ll get a detailed practice plan that breaks down exactly what you need to work on, right down to the minute.

You don’t need to waste any more time figuring out what to play or for how long. Just grab your guitar and let rip with fun and fulfilling practice sessions that actually get you results.

There’s no quicker way of making progress than having a guitar coach give you specific feedback on your playing.

It will help you fix technical issues, give you new ideas, and provide you with a clear idea of exactly what you need to work on to craft better blues guitar solos.

It’s why personalised feedback from me is a central part of this programme, with 6 playing challenges and opportunities for feedback during the Fast Track.

I’ll give you personalised advice on what’s going well, along with the specific areas you need to work on to create blues solos in the style of your blues guitar heroes.

Every week there will be a live workshop where I’ll run through some of the main concepts from the lessons that week.

This is a wonderful chance for you to ask questions in real time, connect with your fellow students and jam! (Don’t worry you’ll be on mute, so you can really let rip!)

Here is exactly what you'll learn during the Blues Fast Track:

    Weeks 1 & 2 - Master the Minor

Stop playing the same handful of licks and learn how to create magic with the minor pentatonic scale. During the first 2 weeks of the programme, you’ll learn:

    • How to master techniques like bending, slides and double stops

    • Ways of easily connecting pentatonic shapes, so you can break out of shapes 1 & 2 and move freely all over the fretboard

    • The intervals in the minor pentatonic scale, and how you can create beautiful licks that manipulate tension and resolution by targeting each of the notes in the scale

    • How to create beautiful phrases from scratch – without having to memorise hundreds of licks

In these first weeks, you’ll learn exactly what you need to create beautiful blues solos. No more mechanical solos that sound like you’re just playing up and down scales.

    Weeks 3 & 4 - Solo like the pros

There’s nothing worse than playing a solo that sounds just like a random collection of licks. In weeks 3 and 4 you’ll learn the soloing frameworks that the pros use to create amazing and engaging solos, every single time. Here’s what we’ll cover:

    • How to solo for minutes on end without sounding boring or repetitive

    • A soloing framework you can use to build momentum and create excitement, every time you improvise

    • Ways of using melodic and rhythmic motifs to create magic from simple phrasings

    • The key mistakes you’re making which are killing the vibe of your solos and making them sound like just a bunch of licks

    Weeks 5 & 6 - Mix in the major

Your blues guitar playing will come to life when you move beyond the minor pentatonic scale.

To add warmth to your lead playing and recreate the amazing vibe of players like B.B. King, Peter Green, Eric Clapton and many others, you need to nail the major pentatonic scale. And that’s exactly what we’ll cover in weeks 5 & 6:

    • Learn what the major pentatonic scale is, and how it differs from the minor pentatonic

    • Understand how you can easily mix the major pentatonic into your playing, all over the fretboard

    • The mistakes that stop guitarists from soloing with the major pentatonic scale

    • Master the B.B. King Box and play like the King of the Blues!
Learning the major pentatonic will totally change your playing, and immediately help you to create beautiful blues guitar solos that move beyond the sound of just the minor pentatonic scale.

    Weeks 7 & 8 - Play the changes

Learning to play the changes is one of the best ways of immediately giving your playing a sweet and melodic feeling.

It’s also a challenging topic that a lot of guitarists struggle to learn and then use in their solos.

In the final 2 weeks of the programme we’ll break this challenge down step by step so you can start playing the changes straight away. Here’s what we’ll cover:

    • How you can transform your solos with just a single note

    • The structure of the minor blues, and how to play the changes over the progression

    • The structure of the major blues, and how to play the changes over the progression

    • Soloing frameworks for nailing the changes every time you play

You’ll also get lifetime access to all of the lessons, resources and call recordings in the Blues Fast Track. So you can revisit the material and work on it as much as you want in the future!

Is the Blues Lead Fast Track right for you?

The Blues Lead Fast Track provides you with the blueprint you need to become an awesome blues lead guitarist – one that can join local blues jams, and craft amazing solos like the blues greats.

    But it’s not for everyone.

You are a good fit for this programme if:

✅ You are tired of not making progress and want to start soloing like the pros!

✅ You have at least 30 minutes to practice, 4 or 5 days per week

✅ You can play at least the first and second shapes of the minor pentatonic scale (or you can learn them quickly), and have a basic understanding of techniques like slides and bends etc.

✅ You’ve tried online courses and memberships before, but struggled to stay accountable without personalised support

✅ You love the blues and want a course that is 100% blues focused

✅ You want a course that explains how different concepts and techniques work, so you can learn exactly how to use them in your playing

This programme is not right for you if:

❌ You are totally content with your playing, and not that interested in making progress

❌ You have almost no time to practice, and don’t want (or aren’t able) to free up any extra time right time

❌ You are a total beginner OR you are already shredding up and down the fretboard like SRV

❌ You would prefer a self-paced course that you can work through without any support or help

❌ You’re looking for a general soloing course, that focuses on a variety of styles

❌ You just want to learn licks or songs without learning how to apply the same ideas in your own playing

If you’re ready to stop spinning your wheels, start soloing with confidence and to make more progress in 8 weeks than you have in months or even years then I’d love to have you join the programme and get results like this:

But with personalised support, feedback and accountability, there are only 20 spots on the programme, so to join up and make sure you don’t miss out:

      Great value for blues guitarists

Most guided programmes like this cost thousands of dollars. And even then, you’re normally just getting pre-recorded material with the occasional check in or group session.

And if you were to get this same amount of time and support with my 1-1 coaching over 8 weeks, it would cost around $2500.

But I want to make the Fast Track as accessible as possible and offer some of the best elements of my 1-1 coaching at a much more affordable price point.

But as a head’s up – this is the lowest price the Fast Track programme will ever be.

This is the first time that I’m running the Fast Track, and I’m offering a lower price to reflect that. But future programmes will be more expensive.

So if you’re on the fence, go for it! I promise you’ll get amazing results at just a fraction of what it normally costs for private coaching sessions.

And if you join, put the work in and still don’t make any progress, then don’t worry – I’ve got you covered:

      Full Programme money back guarantee

I’ve coached hundreds of players from all over the world using the principles and frameworks outlined in the Fast Track, all with amazing results.

And if you put in the same effort, I’m confident you’ll make the same awesome progress.

So, if you join the programme, follow the lessons and put the practice in, and you don’t come away from it a better blues guitarist, I’ll give you all of your money back – right up until the end of the programme.

However if you join up, don’t put the work in and don’t engage with the programme, you won’t get a refund.

But if you’re ready to commit to making the fastest progress of your blues guitar playing journey so far, you can do so knowing that there’s no risk for you. Become a better blues lead player, or the programme is on me!

      Fast Track bonuses:

When you join the Blues Lead Fast Track, you’ll also get access to these 3 progress-boosting bonuses:

      Bonus #1:
      Lifetime Access

The journey to becoming a better blues guitarist never stops.

A lot of online programmes like this expire after a couple of months, or a year at most.

But I want to help you make significant progress that will last a lifetime.

With the Blues Fast Track you can come back and revisit the material whenever you want in the future.

      Bonus #2:
      Blues Backing Track Pack

Access a suite of almost 30 backing tracks in different keys, styles and tempos.

This includes backing tracks for some of the most iconic songs of all time – like “Crossroads”, “The Thrill Is Gone”, “Hey Joe” and “Need Your Love So Bad.”

Build your improv skills in a range of musical contexts, so you’re always ready to solo!

      Bonus #3:
      My personal practice plan

Get access to my personal practice template.

See how I break down my own practice, the exercises and resources I use, and how I maximise my personal practice time.

Take this template and make it your own, so you’re never wasting another minute of precious practice!

      Frequently asked questions

Want to join the Fast Track but have questions? Here are your answers 👇

The programme starts on Monday 20th October and runs for 8 weeks, up until 15th December.

Every Monday you’ll receive new lessons for the week, along with your practice plan and tracker.

You can work through these lessons at a pace and time that suits you, and then join the live calls to ask questions, get feedback, and connect with blues guitarists just like you to chat about all things blues, guitar and music related! 😁

I designed the Fast Track to help late beginner and early intermediate guitarists transform their solos and improvisations.

If you can play the first and second shapes of the minor pentatonic scale (or you can quickly learn them) and you have some basic technique, then you’re going to love the programme.

We’ll start by helping you create magic in the minor pentatonic scale, before we look at how to construct melodic and interesting solos, then the major pentatonic and finally, how to play the changes.

If you are a total beginner – or if you are already shredding up and down the fretboard – then the Fast Track might not be right for you this time.

But if you have any doubts or questions about your specific playing situation, just hit the link below to schedule a call and we can chat through everything in more detail.

It would be brilliant if you are able to learn and memorise at least the first 2 shapes of the minor pentatonic scale in the key of A.

This will help you to dive straight into the first lessons when the programme launches on the 20th.

Once all of the slots for the Fast Track have been filled, I’ll run a quick poll to find the best time that works for as many players as possible.

Even if you can’t make one or two of the calls live though, don’t worry – they will all be recorded so you can catch up and watch them in your own time 😁

Don’t worry – I will be doing most of the talking!

There will be lots of chances to ask questions and you can chat and share your playing with the group (who will all be cheering you on!) but if you don’t feel comfortable, you don’t have to get involved and can even watch with your web cam disconnected, if you’d prefer.

I created the Blues Lead Fast Track to help you make more progress in 8 weeks than you’ve made in months or years.

But that progress doesn’t come without a little work 😁

If you can practice for 30 minutes most days (and maybe a little longer during the weekend) then you’ll be able to dive into the programme, run through the lessons and exercises and get amazing results.

The Blues Fast Track is designed to help electric guitarists play vocal blues solos in the style of guitarists like B.B. King, Peter Green, Eric Clapton, Albert King and many others (whilst of course keeping your own distinctive style).

The concepts can be learnt and applied to the acoustic, but this isn’t true for the techniques and practical playing part. So if you are only interested in playing acoustic blues, this won’t be the right programme for you.

Throughout the programme there will be 6 challenges for you to get involved in to help you apply the concepts we’ve been learning and push your playing to the next level.

You can send me videos of you playing these short challenges either on email or WhatsApp and I’ll respond with personalised feedback on what’s going well and the areas you can tweak and adjust to keep making progress.

You also don’t need any fancy gear to do this and can just record everything on your phone or a webcam 😁

You will have lifetime access to all of the lessons and materials inside the Fast Track, so you can go back and revisit the material as much as you want in the future

Not at all! You can drop back into the lesson when you return and reach out to get my support if you feel like you need extra help.

And with lifetime access to the programme, you can go back to the lessons and revisit them as much as you need in the future.

The reality is that there will probably never be the “perfect time” to dedicate yourself to blues guitar.

But I do promise that over the next 8 weeks I will dedicate myself to helping you to be consistent, practice more (and have a lot of fun!) and get the absolute most out of every minute of your practice time.

You don’t need to practice for hours every day to become an amazing blues guitarist. But you do need to know how to build a routine that suits you and works around your life and schedule.

I promise that the Blues Fast Track will do just that 😁

      Meet the Happy Bluesman 😁

Hello! I’m Aidan, the Happy Bluesman 👋

I first picked up the guitar over 20 years ago, when I was just 12 years old. I saw one of my older brother’s friends playing classic rock and blues riffs, and I was hooked.

I started taking lessons shortly after, and quickly fell in love with the blues.

I can still remember the first time I heard the iconic solos of guitarists like B.B. King, Peter Green, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I knew straight away that I wanted to be able to play in the same vocal and expressive way, and to bring my musical ideas to life on the instrument.

After years gigging and performing as a teenager, I decided to take a totally different professional path – studying English Literature at University and then working in the fast-paced world of tech start ups in London.

But around 10 years ago – with my guitar gathering dust in the corner, I decided that I was done neglecting such an important part of my life.

I dedicated myself to the guitar, putting as much time into it as I could (whilst also working 80 hour work weeks and being on call with clients 24 hours a day) and practicing in every spare moment that I had.

I pushed my playing to a whole new level, quit my job and decided to become a full time bluesman – coaching blues guitarists all over the world, running the Blues Club and spreading the good vibe of the blues.

I know exactly what it’s like to feel stuck in your playing, and to be juggling the guitar alongside a hectic job and family life.

At times it can feel hopeless – like progress will always be out of reach or that you’ll never have enough time. And if you’ve done other programmes or courses without much success, you might be wondering if you’re really cut out for the guitar.

I’m here to tell you that you are 😁

I’ve worked with guitarists of all abilities and all walks of life, from all over the world. And with a bit of effort and consistency, and of course the right coaching and support – you will be amazed by the results that are possible.

So, if you love the blues and playing the guitar, and you’re ready to commit to making some amazing progress and learning how to solo like your blues guitar heroes, I’d love to see you inside!

      Cheers,

      Aidan
