Lesson 1 of 4
In Progress

Introduction

In my opinion, improvisation is one of the most fulfilling and enjoyable elements of guitar playing. It gives you the chance to express yourself, create your own musical ideas, and put into practice so many different elements of your playing.

If you are just getting started with improvisation, it can all feel a little overwhelming. There is so much that you have to think about, and when things aren’t quite going the way you want – it can be challenging to pinpoint why that is the case.

In this course then, you’ll learn 6 concepts or tips that you can use as a framework, every time you come to improvise. These will stop you from making some of the classic mistakes that hold players back, and they will give you clear focus points that you can keep in mind whenevr you are creating your own licks or solos.

If you are new to improvisation, this will set you up in the right way and save you from mistakes that can lead to weeks or months of frustration. Even if you have been improvising for a while however, there is still a benefit of refreshing this material.

As you learn more complex ideas and get more technically proficient, it can be easy to forget the fundamentals. But it is these simple ideas which are a core part of blues guitar playing, and which should always be present in your improvisations.

So, without further ado – let’s dive into it! 😁
