5 Ways To Create A Killer Guitar Solo

5 Ways To Create A Killer Guitar Solo

Craft more interesting, varied and expressive guitar solos with these 5 tips

COURSE OVERVIEW

5 Ways To Create A Killer Guitar Solo

It is challenging to craft interesting and varied blues guitar solos.

In fact, in my experience this challenge represents one of the first major hurdles that blues guitarists face when they first start improvising.

They learn scales, various licks and phrases, and maybe some solos. But they then hit a wall when they actually try to improvise using these scales and licks.

This is the challenge that I cover in this course.

Here I will look at 5 different techniques and concepts that you can use to craft more interesting and varied guitar solos.

This will give you a framework you can use to solo with greater freedom and create more interesting and expressive improvisations.

What you will learn:

PART 1

In this first lesson we will establish the framework that we will be using throughout this course, and how it will help to fundamentally alter your approach to soloing.

PART 2

Here we will look at a key concept that will immediately improve your lead guitar playing, and help you to get more mileage from your musical vocabulary.

PART 3

In this third lesson you will learn how to properly pace your solos. This will help you to solo for longer and create interesting improvisations that have a sense of movement.

PART 4

Moving on, you will learn how to breathe life into even the simplest of ideas through dynamic control.

PART 5

Learn how guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Billy Gibbons use repetition to build suspense and excitement in their solos.

PART 6

Learn how you can use a single phrase to craft a coherent and interesting solo with ease.

PART 7

In this final lesson we will put all of these ideas together and talk through how you can put these concepts into practice.

My story

I have played guitar for over 20 years and have loved blues music for almost just as long.

5 years ago – after getting complacent with my practice and playing – I decided I wanted to push on and develop as a guitarist.

I couldn’t find the detailed, blues focused resources that I wanted to learn from online, so I created the Happy Bluesman.

I have since gone on to work with hundreds of blues guitarists all over the world through the Blues Club and 1-2-1 coaching.
